Haydn K. Persaud is an Associate at FT Legal. He is an attorney-at-law and was admitted to the Bar of Barbados in 2019, with approximately seven years’ experience advising local and international clients on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and cross-border matters. He regularly engages with regulators and develops pragmatic, commercially focused solutions to facilitate significant foreign investment into the Caribbean, while ensuring robust corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

He holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, and Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Further, he recently completed a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill.

He has worked at a number of leading law firms in Barbados with a local and regional footprint, and is well versed in cross border matters and serving an international clientele. His practice focuses on cross-border securities and corporate finance transactions, particularly involving the United States, Canada, and Asia. He has advised on corporate formation, corporate taxation, share transfers, financial institutions regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and the drafting of complex commercial agreements. His professional interests include traditional credit financing, renewable energy, environmental regulation, data protection and fintech projects.

Haydn has been ranked as an IFLR 1000 “Notable Practitioner” of corporate law in Barbados.
