COVID-19 FT Legal Business Operations Update

30 March 2020

As Barbados moves to Stage 3 of its response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the government of Barbados has, on 28 March 2020, declared that a public health emergency exists in Barbados.

A temporary curfew has been put in place from 28 March 2020 to 14 April 2020 and issued a directive as to cessation of all businesses in Barbados except for specified businesses (e.g. food retailers, fuel distributors, banks, pharmacies etc.) and specified government essential services. However, private businesses and offices may continue their operations where the employees can work exclusively from their homes.
